My experence in my first presentation in this class.
Making presentations or speeches in front of a group of people, either online or in person, is a challenging task, at least for me. I remember always being scared and nervous. I think in this class I will learn the correct process for doing research based on the topic, developing the main points, organizing my point of view, and finding interesting and important information. Being sure that the information is true and editing what is necessary to make it a good search about the topic. Communicating with the audience is difficult because not all people think the same way, everyone has different opinions, and each person has the right to communicate their different points of view on things. I liked the presentation that we did in this course because it was like a complete introduction and explanation of what we needed to learn from the most basic to the most complicated, whether it was choosing a topic, how we were going to present it to the audience, and how to attract their attention.
When
we make group presentations, the most important thing is the union of this
group to distribute the tasks and agree on the research and presentation
process. In the case that it is an individual project, it depends on each
person. For example, in my case, when I do research, my first step is to
understand what I am talking about and why. From these questions, I can develop
what I need and why I need it. In the previous presentation, we saw the topics
that we must avoid as a religion because it is something that people have many
opinions about. We do not all belong to the same religion, so it would be
better to avoid it. Another issue is drug or alcohol addiction and violence
since people are currently aggressive. In my opinion, one of the most important
points was cheating in class. As explained in the presentation, many studies
are copied in classes, whether because the class is difficult, or they have
other reasons. It is not something that should be done because it is like
cheating on ourselves. By doing the proper research, we can pass the class. I
don't like online classes. I feel that it is more difficult if we can distract
ourselves from this in person. The pressure is felt a little more because it is
face-to-face with the teachers and students, but ignoring If we attend to this
topic in class, we will be able to pass with good grades.
Returning
to the main topic, I enjoyed the presentation because, when presenting the
slices, you could see the coordination between us as each of us knew which
person we had to present behind and the decoration of everyone in the colors
with the same theme. As we were large groups, we were able to distribute the
assignment better, and each person was able to expand more on the topic, doing
an improved and well-explained investigation of it so that the audience, in
this case, the rest of the students and the teacher, could better understand
the topic that they did not investigate. Additionally, I've learned knowledge of the many audiences and
speech types, such as persuasive, informative, and entertaining. It was also
clear that a strong introduction and an effort to use visuals to communicate
the message were essential for attracting the audience's attention and keeping
them involved throughout the whole process. This is an important class
because in our majors we are going to need it, such as doctors confronting
their patients to give bad or good news or how an architect or engineer plans
their presentation to present a project. It is a class that will help us deal
with people and learn how to cope with social pressure.
Why I didn't
like the presentation, some people had trouble connecting to the meeting, so
those points were at the end of the presentation and not in the order that was
agreed upon. At the last moment, there were people who did not yet have their
complete slices, so in some way, we were mishaps. I had some difficulties with
the website where the project was made because I normally do it in PowerPoint
and have never worked on this website. I had a little problem changing the size
of the letters and adding images, but it is something that I can improve with
practice. I didn't like having to speak in front of people I didn't know, and
that made me nervous, but as I said before, that's why this class is made to
help us improve our fears of presenting in front of an audience. By dividing
the presentations by class, we had to expand our presentation more so that it
was a more extended and complex presentation, but in a way, it helped us
because we could process all the information more calmly and not feel so
overwhelmed. When we listen to others speak, we take an example of each person
and their abilities when presenting.
To
conclude, the presentations in class will help me with my fear of speaking in
front of an audience, improve my skills in class, and help me with the research
process. I hope that in future presentations we can understand each other
better in the group and be able to finish on time without being rushed. I am
sure that from the beginning to the end of this class, we will enjoy it, and it
will help us in future classes. The fact of being online has not made it
difficult for us to communicate, although everything is through a screen, we
have helped each other with our doubts. At the end of this class, we will
understand everything that we didn't understand at first, and it will be
easier. The
time for questions and answers will be essential because we will improve our
level of learning and clarify other people's doubts in order to make the topic
simpler and less complex. These help us know if the audience clearly understood
the message and remembers it together.

Excellent post. Great reflection!
